Anyone else plan on building a B5.1M? Once the parts are available I plan on getting the steering blocks, rear hubs and possibly the B6 transmission.

While the steering blocks should mount up..they may not be the same geometry due to the different steering rack. Best to check with AE of measure them compared to the std b5 versions.

Good idea. I will wait until I am able to physically see them and compare to my B5M.

I just acquired a used B5m CE with some upgrades and a few spare parts. I will be running this in mod class with a HW v3.1 esc, Tenshock 4 pole x211 7.5T motor. I has a 3 gear tranny installed but comes with the 4 gear as well. I don't know if I will receive it with the manual. I run on a fairly small track. Leaders usually run low 23's (I ain't one of them...lol)...on a really good groove day they can put down 21-22 sec laps. Holeshot tires and some times even barcodes are usually to go to rubber.

I want to ring this thing out and don't know what oils were used on the build. I was thinking of running it with a square pack. So let me know what spacers to use on the suspension pivot points, oils, springs, tranny, ect.

Check out rc10.com for some setups, if you cant find anything close to your track/surface go out to your track and ask around a bit.

4 Pole? Better stock up on transmission parts!

I've been reading on another forum about folks having trouble with their pinion gears rubbing on the gear cover. Has anyone here run into that problem? The OP said he had a 22/84 rub as well as a 19/81. I'm totally baffled on how this could be happening.

I had the same issue but was actually the motor shaft was a tad too long and stuck out past the pinion. Got out the trusty dremel!

Well if it's so obvious why did you need to ask?

If you come to a forum and ask fa question don't be a douche to people that are trying to give you the best advice.

22/78 is good for the majority of 8.5 turn motors. They will be in their optimum temperature range with that gearing in the B5M

Is there a manual to download for the B5m and/or the B5m CE? I could only find one for the B5 on the AE site...
