Only because it's going to result in pages and pages of recommendations and most certainly debate of all different kinds, none of which will really relate to the B5M series. I'll ask that you use the Radio/Electronics thread for motor discussions like this. Thank you

Anyway, I am wondering what is the fastest 17.5T motor (doesnt have to be legal) because I want to swith up this Mach 3 for one of these faster 17..5 turn motors!

Any advice or a link would be appreciated beccause I only have a couple days until my next race
You aren't giving much information but I doubt the M3 is the problem.
If you are allowed to run timing it's probably more to do with ESC settings.

Maybe weight difference in the cars too?

Man, if you are racing non-blinky 17.5, just step up and run mod. The glory of stock racing is the blinky requirement. The Mach3 17.5's are more than good enough to compete without having to spend $150 on a motor that you can't run at a track that has its poop in a group.

I was running my car dual purpose mod/stock. So i was boosting 17.5. I liked it. So I can see the draw if you only want to own one motor. That Bandit 17.5 boosts rather nicely. I know a guy boosting it in a t5m. comes off at 115 deg and can wheelie down the straight. still have a manageable low end for touch sensitive sections of the track. Previously he had tried a 9.5, but he was over doing all the low speed sections and found the power hard to drive.

Default Avid Mod Triad vs Schelle Nova

I want to try a new slipper in my B5M. My stock slipper needs new pads. Instead of getting new pads, I would like to upgrade. The schelle and avid slippers look very similar. What's the difference? Does anyone like one over the other?

I was thinking about putting a drop of wood glue or something on the screw and then screwing it in and let it sit overnight. Thinking that might harden and tighten up the threads. But I'm not sure if I'll ever get the screw back out or if the threads will hold up since that's a screw that needs to be removed often. Might not be worth the effort but I'm just curious I guess.
This happened to me and I just put a longer screw in and it tighten up just fine. Been running this way for over 3 months.

I prefer the avid setup as it comes with the vented drive plates. The Schell does not. If you order directly from avid you can customize the spurs you want. Check out some of the other stuff like the black shock parts for the b5m and avids bearings are good and cost effective at 1 dollar each

This past weekend there wasn't enough entries for a Sportsman class, so I ran the 17.5 Buggy group (Round 1-3). 8 cars. I concerned myself and spent a lot of time pulled over to let the leaders pass, who were fighting for series points. It wasn't a productive day. By the 3rd run I stayed out of the marshal's hands but I still lost lost a lot of time being overly courteous. It was also a case of not always being ahead of the car yet, so I wasn't all that confident going into a corner side by side either.

Pretty frustrating day. The car handled much better than it did during my Sportsman run but I was incredibly nervous and never pushed.

I think considerably more practice days should be had before I try to run in 17.5 Buggy again
