Is associated going to release a b5m with laydown tranny like the one used at yatabe for the worlds?

Something is in the works with the team and CE discontinued, but the rumour is to not hold out for an AE lay down gear box.

Somebody asks this same question about every other page, AE engineers have said no, there are a few people printing them already but sadly no AE plans any time soon so far. The CE was a limited run from the get go so... Who knows?

FWIW, the SLRC chassis I purchased has the extra holes to install the lay down tranny, but I doubt I'll ever use them.

I heard the B5W will be released in April with twin motors located in the wheels. The tranny is gone altogether, no diff or slipper clutch weight or efficiency losses due to drag, no drive-lines either. Just 3 wires out each wheel.

You should call AE and ask. Their customer service is amazing. Since you're in south America, send them an email.

Can anyone confirm when the new laydown transmission model will be out ? should I wait or just buy a CE edition now ? I would hate to buy a new car and it be outdated in a week . I have to have that laydown transmission . Can anyone tell me what it does ?

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

Seriously though, just because someone said "No" at that time doesn't mean they will not do it.

+1

Why would AE say they WERE developing a laydown gearbox? All that would do is slow down sales of the already packaged kits.
