By 'upper shaft' do you mean the topshaft? My topshaft only has two bearings and they are 5x10x4, 91560

the old gear case case had smaller bearings the new cases have 5x10x4

Just got a used b5m that I got off here and noticed that it has the trailing inserts glued in at the 2mm position. Does anyone run theirs like this. All my other 5m vehicles I run in the 4mm position. Just wondering if I should go ahead and order new parts or what should I expect. It also still has 2mm washers on the rack for ackerman, the guide recommends 0 if running the 2mm position for the trailing insert. Just looking for advice I guess before I start tearing it apart and rebuilding it. Thanks

Some people glue in the inserts, and just purchase multiple spindles to get their 0, 2 and 4 options.

I understand the gluing of the inserts, just not quite sure on what to expect from the car. Just noticed the C block is the 2.5+2 instead of the stock 3+1 as well. I'll probably just order the stock parts and get it back to box stock and go from there

Don't sell it! When converting the B5 to the B5M, the only part you need is the V1 tranny case and everything will work. Part #91530. If you want to use the included V2 case you'd need to get a new top shaft and bearings which is more expensive.

If you contact AE and explain that your conversion kit came with the wrong transmission case (mine did as well), they might send you one free of charge.

Download the manual which should tell you which spurs are included.

The CE also includes the 72 spur gear. At least mine did.

The CE doesn't have a model specific manual like the lite does. Only a supplementation. So I guess you go by the standard B5M manual.
