The lite is definitely lighter and comes with more upgrades.
Titianium turnbuckles
Lighter chassis
Lightweight top shaft and motor plate
HDD axles
FT bearings
Alum wheel hexes
Alum rear camber mount

Perhaps you could look at the cost of selling the old kit and getting a new one vs upgrading.

On another note: In my comparison, the lighter can jump higher and further due to it's weight and it feels more nimble. But sometimes a heavier car is preferred on certain tracks, so then I add those yokomo under battery chassis weights as it is easier to add weight than remove it. I love my Lite, and the guys who got the "M" are all switching over to lite this year.

Anyways, if you really need the 4 gear transmission, its just a motor plate and v2 gearbox that is needed.

Don't forget the gear cover and top shaft.

Top shaft for the 3 gear is interchangeable with the V2 4 gear case.

The lite comes with the v2 topshaft, but have the team cars been updated to v2?

Call AE and ask.

I know the 4 gears that are bought from AE are the V2 only.

I dont actually care to call them, lol. He could simply open his gear box and check the topshaft. Since we have no idea how old his team kit is.

I ordered the low-rider wing mounts from shapeways on October 8th. They still haven't shipped. I understand they need to be printed but does it normally take this long?

It does show some shims. I have no side to side play in any of mine.

Spot on. Thank you. There is no mention of them when they list the needed parts to convert to the 3-gear tranny.

Inner diameter 10mm outer 14mm anyone know how thick these shims are?

Default Reedy Sonic 540 question.

Hi

I just got a slightly used B5m and with it came a Reedy Sonic motor. The seller told me that it had a different rotor in it that was for 1s batteries. In a container he had the one for 2s.
I began to change them and found that the supposed 2s rotor does not fit either the bearings at each end of the motor.

I went on to Associated's site and there are many different rotors but no information on them.

The rotor that fits has written on it: Reedy Sonic s12.3 x 25.0. On the flat part of the shaft is the Associated id number for the rotor on the site which is 955.

Can anyone explain what is going on here?
Thanks, in advance.
John
