Default Novak Pulse ESC / B4.2 - Will It Fit?

I have done a couple of searches before posting a new thread as I didn't see a real answer. Is anybody running this ESC in their B4.1 or .2? Does it fit well? If I ever want to use a shelf, will it fit there?

I am building a car to run mod (8.5 or 7.5) and am beating my head to the wall over going with Novak or Tekin. I know Tekin is popular, but the Novak has a lot of what I like.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have never had an issue with the pulse fitting in my car. Even with it on a shelf. You'll be okay.

Excellent, thank you very much for the reply! Now I just have to wait for the combo to get into stock at Tower or Amain.

Thanks!

Good choice! Yes it will fit and you will be very happy with novak! "Novak or nothin"
If you need help with how to use the super tuner software on the esc. I did a YouTube video on how to navigate through it. My YouTube page is in my sig below.

Not being a smart ass, but what would you suggest? I have a few that I am looking at. My other cars run Hobbywing, I am just trying to take it up a notch with this buggy build.

You sure . Novak is known for "blowing up".

As far as other ESC's go, the Hacker ESC's are excellent. (Exact same as Orion just a bit cheaper)

Hacker Skalar motors are incredible as well. Link to them in my signature

I have used Novak, Orion and Tekin and never had an issue with any of them. For the most part I have always paired by ESC with the same brand motor. I figure run a motor with the same brand esc because thats what its been tested with. It may make no difference but i have never had an issue. The only esc's i have seen go up in smoke personally at our track is Speed Passion and Novak. But of the ones I have seen go up in smoke I highly suspect user error on all of them. I prefer Tekin. The new Gen II stuff is smooth and they are always around to help out with any questions. Novak has great customer service as well so I would reccomend them just as highly on the customer service standpoint. One thing I like better about Tekin is the hotwire for adjusting the ESC. I was close to getting a Pulse but did not like the idea of adjusting with the button method. Orion stuff is really good as well loved the ESC, hated their motors. Customer service is difficult to get answers from, took two weeks via email. Tekin and Novak are USA based any work you need is fast and tech questions are usually answered the same day.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies guys! My initial considerations were:

LRP
Novak Pulse with Vulcan 7.5t
Tekin Gen 2 8.5 combo
Reedy Sonic 8.5t motor, not sure which ESC
Hobbywing XERun 8.5t combo

After spending hours researching and searching, I decided the Hobbywing ESC is a little bigger and heavier than I would like. I found that the LRP higher end ESCs have no reverse! I am not that good! Reedy motors seem fine but I want a matched motor and ESC like BRSRacing mentioned, so that leaves me with Tekin and Novak.

With motor and ESC combos costing as much as the car kits, it is just as big of a decision to me, this stuff isn't cheap and I want to do it right.

Thanks again for all of the replies

There is always speed passion! Been running my reventon pro 6 months and still going strong.
It replaced a novak speedo cause it went up in smoke in my b4.2.

I've been running novak esc's with Novak/trinity d3.5 motors, and have no issues to date... They are great esc's when you connect and use them rightaway, and disconnect them as soon as you're done...
There are lots of Pulse esc videos on youtube where Chad Bradley can be seen waxing the competition in his Short Course truck....

I have always been a Novak user. I owned many Novaks in my time. Never had a problem. Currently have the Pulse in my SC. In the past 2-3 years, I have went away from Novak. I have a Tekin and a Orion. All 3 have been good. But I don't run Mod.
