It happens in Motocross, why not RC? Profitability is key. If you pay out too much to drivers compaired to the equipment you sell you are destined for trouble. Pro drivers might help sell a product, but your local fast guy has more influence than you might think. Our local fast guy went from Associated to Kyosho and back to Associated then to a Centro. At least 6 other buggy guys followed every step. Personally I dont care what pros are running what and where, to me the hobby is all about the local club racing fun and tinkering rather than the follow the pro and copy his set-up. Now if TLR does a press release of BK or closing the doors, then I will worry since I like their product.

Just remember, the pros do what they do because they are paid to do so. Remember that next time someone says something counter to what the pros say and your initial response is to discount it.

Tebo possibly leaving Kyosho
Truhe possibly leaving TLR
Hupo gone from Durango
Bloomfield gone from TLR
Castellano to Kyosho
Lee Martin posted 'end of an error' so you can judge for yourself there.

AND IT'S NOT EVEN DECEMBER YET!!!!!!!! lol

The writing been on the wall. The new Horizon president cutting way back. Discontinuing all tires, trucks and now cutting the tlr team. Tlr worked hard to get there racing team back and now this.

You will know for certain there's problems when the main stay drivers & engineers start moving on to other teams.

Just because they are trimming the fat does't mean that they are going in the wrong direction. This industry has seen a lot of changes because of the economy and maybe they realize that a change is needed to stay profitable and for long term sustainability. You guys forget that bashers out number racers 10 to 1 so some of their decisions might be based on that. You might also see a younger race team as I base my buying on the local fast guys not the big names. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Kyosho did this for many years. Bulk up 1/8th team for worlds, then cut back. Its a little different now with so many players so Kyosho seems to stick with 2-3 permanent long term drivers.
