Having equal oil is not typically ideal. Try 35/30.

try this for a drop test. drop the car from 3 feet perfectly level. if it slaps, drop it from 3 feet so that the front wheels land slightly before the rear wheels. not that the slap will probably disappear, because the front hitting first takes some of the energy out of the fall and the rear now has to deal with less. I not noticed that I could drop my car from a much high point if I let the front wheels land first.

Haha, I watched the 45 minute 2013? nitro buggy finals the other day, not sure how many laps, guy was in second all the way through, slapped everytime he landed off the doubles, over shooting the second berm, landing on the flat track. The leader fell out with a mechanical issue and I think he won. Camera was by the doubles and everytime, slap lol. Track was all scarred up there by the end lol. He was brutally consistent. Great race

I am not convinced slapping is good or bad, but bouncing is another story.

If you can be consistent and slap, it should be just fine. Larger cars often bottom out in suspension travel, because if shocks were set up only for jumping the cars would be undrivable on the rest of the track.

my b4.1 with v2 shocks slapped everywhere, and I still think it drove better than my b4.2 ever did. Anyway, slapping and hopping are not the same thing. Normally, for me, bouncing happens from the rear landing first, motor smacks the ground and shoots the rear end up in the air, because the motor/motor plate and tranny are ridged.

Good point, I have seen the argument on both sides and wondered about the reasoning on the setup. I love learning from threads like these.
