The 42271 with with the big bore shocks and springs and will allow the right height to go lower over the standard spring retainer

I was wondering how much trf 501x aluminum caster blocks need trimming when used with double cardan joint shafts.

If they're the same ones I've used on my DB01 & now use on my TRF503, then they may not need any trimming(though I could be wrong). I've played around with a pair of DCJ's I bought for my TRF211 & it looked like they'd fit without any problems, but again please correct me if I'm wrong....

I mean the front aluminum caster blocks. The manual of the double cardan joint shafts #42283 shows that if used with trf 501x aluminum caster blocks, there will be some areas which come into contact. I just wonder how big the areas are and it is easily to trim, because I am thinking of getting trf 501x aluminum caster blocks instead of the plastic ones.

I think you may get better cooling by not having a heatsink there via more airflow with a gap in the chassis

Yeah, those are the blocks I was talking about(I have them on my 503), & again while I can't 100% sure, I think they should work(even if they do need a bit of grinding, I'm sure it wouldn't take much)....

Hello. I'm not near my car at this time. .....but I know that I have been able to fit many styles of "squared" lipo packs into my car with a little room to spare. I have the blue Hardcastle 5200 zippy pack from hobbyking and I also have fitted my Peak 4200 "shotgun" lipo without issues. Hopefully this might help but I could measure for you on Friday if you want.

Are you sure your pack is that long? I looked up some Turnigy nanotech's like this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Approved_.html & I didn't see any they list as longer than 138.5mm(& I can say with some confidence those should fit in the chassis just fine). Maybe if you tell us exactly which pack you're dealing with it'll be easier to advise you further....

Hi all i have a brushless db01 for sometime but having issues with the ball diffs. Been thinking of getting back into racing again. Should I bother with the upgrades or look for another 4wd buggy

Thinking about picking up a DB01rrr to run as my 13.5 wheeler. Mainly run hard packed dirt and clay tracks with bite being low to med. Thoughts? Like the belt drive as well as it being sealed and really like the platform design. Plus I have not owned a Tamiya since the mid 80's and really would like to put one in the racing fleet.

I drive the RR. I believe that you will not be disappointed. That being said....I also run dirt/clay and I have had a small pebble destroy my front belt and pulley. It entered through the small hole that is along the battery tray allowing access to the lower motor screw. Put tape over any openings and problems are solved. I run a sensorless system equivalent to the 13.5t sensored. It's fast! I also use the double slipper clutch and gear diffs. I will be trying ball diffs next fall. It certainly is capable in my mind. It has surprised me and fellow Losi/Associated drivers more than once even with my limited driving skills.

Nothing wrong with running Tamiya for the races....with the exception of my ARRMA Typhon, my entire race fleet is Tamiya. Have fun

I picked one up last fall. Only thing I changed out was the shock towers for the carbon fiber ones and I put the double slipper in (car was used on a high grip carpet track). Shocks are really nice. Anyone who's touched the car compliments the shocks. I did change the shock bushings out recently. The plastic bushings felt bindy I don't know how else to explain it. I used some small diameter silicone fuel hose over some 3mm bolts and I like the way it feels now. Don't know if it makes it drive any better just something I noticed. There is better 4wd race chassis out there but I think the RRR has its own place on the track. 2¢
