$10 a class here, Ht is $10 for the first and $8 for the second with "hobby bucks" payout.

The payouts at HT are
1st $11
2nd $8
3rd $6
4th $
5th $2
everyone else gets $1

The hobby bucks act like store credit, but cant be used on race fees. Some people have bought $400 kits and didnt pay anything but the tax. Cant beat it.

Our local indoor track recently has a "big" race (cav and maifield showed up), it was $50 for the first class and $30 each exta. Too rich for my blood, so I ddnt do the race.

For tracks around the bay area , club racing the standard rates are 20/15/5 no payouts. Big races, 25-45/25-15/10-5 free for > 4.

lol. I wish I had a local in-town track to discuss prices.

As it sits, some of the tracks I go to when I have time range from completely free to about $20 - $15 for first class, $5 less for secondary ones.

One place was once doing really cheap entry fees, but, IMHO it caused more issues as the turn out was low that you had a lot of guys entered in ALL the classes making it harder for the race director to find corners, etc.

Not saying fees should be used to stop this, but maybe it does in a way?
