Default using 4wd chassis in 2wd class

is it legal to run a 4wd buggy with the front drive removed in a 2wd class? and is it competitive? too heavy, doesn't set up good? no real reason other than just wondering.

It was done at the Worlds race this last week.

I think it would be hard to set up. It wouldn't be as nimble as other buggies if you were to race either, being heavier.

I think it really comes down to track type. On a high grip track that is quite smooth like a carpet track I don't see a problem with it. If it is a rough, low grip track then I doubt it would be as effective.

are they not as nimble as a 2wd? They are technically a mid motor and they use the same shocks. I would imagine that you shed some weight when removing all of the front drive parts.

Once you fix the kick up and caster issues (you just can't take the 4wd stuff out and expect it to work well at all). Then you can move on to a whole new front end to optimize geometry and maximize weight loss.
