Is there an upper limit on endbell timing?
On my 17.5 SCT, I've got the gearing set to give me the right amount of torque for the track I'm driving on, but the motor still runs very cool. At 25 teeth, it's faster on the straight, but slower in the bends, and the opposite with 24 teeth. 24T seems to be faster.
I was going to start upping the timing on the endbell to see if I can squeeze some more speed out of it. I went from 40 degrees (stock) to 45, and the temperature didn't seem to go up at all. 45 already seems like a lot of timing.
Is there a point where more timing doesn't make the car any faster? Can you put so much advance timing on it that the sensor board no longer syncs up with the stator, and it just doesn't work?
