Thanks - giving it a try now. Definitely will try other options before cracking a case...

Ever been near a lipo fire? Hopefully if you ever have been you will realize how stupid trying to save a puffed lipo can be. Why risk it? Why risk your equipment and others equipment around you? All over < $100. No thanks.

Yes. As Racer 1812 said, if you can feel a gap between the case and cells the you're probably fine (puffed cells feel very firm). If you believe the cells have puffed, just trash the battery. LiPo fires are very dangerous, both because they're hot, hard to extinguish fires and because the smoke that comes off of them is pretty poisonous.

Batteries are too cheap these days to take the risk.

Just a tip, if you ever encounter a LiPo fire, the best way to turn it off is to remove the body and pack in dirt all over to suffocate the oxygen being fed to the accelerants. I had a foam fly off my 4.2 and the battery slid back and made contact with my ESC Shelf (thankfully I had just moved my RS Pro to the left side) and shorted out until the heat built up enough to ignite the resin in the Carbon Fiber so it was a dual fire. LiPo & CF fire and I pulled the body off immediately and packed in clay and it extinguished instantly. Also the clay is cool under the first layer so it also dissipates heat right away.

I have a set of HVR saddles that started to puff. I'm a little bummed to say the least. I think I may have pushed em a little to hard in my Durango short course truck.....
