with the stock engine, the stock pipe is about perfect.
if you replace it though, go with one of Associated's Factory Team pipes...come in both top end and bottom end torque depending on which you want.

But the Associated pipes are for .12 and .15 engines, so they say. With the Evader engine being an O.S .18 would it make a difference?

I dunno, I'm not 100% sure...I know both my buddy's 18TZ's run awesome, but the one in his Nitro MT (which is running a BB pipe) seems to have a LOT broader torque band than the one in his NTC3 (which is running a standard Associated bottom end pipe)
realistically, though, since the output of his DTX 18 and my .12 CVR are roughly the same, horsepower-wise, it should be just fine. if he gets a bottom-end pipe, since the volume is quite a bit larger than the topend FT pipe, it should ESSENTIALLY be a topend pipe for the .18...since it isn't exactly lacking bottom end punch.

yeah, but me personally, i don't like running an inline pipe on an offroad car/truck.
too many F'd up springs that ended my day.
stick with a coupler, you'll be happy.
