Default Good ESC for blinky SC?

Well today started out wonderfully. I plugged in my first battery of the day backwards and let the magic smoke out of my Tekin RS. I now need a replacement esc for blinky 17.5 SC. I have heard good things about hobbywing, but I love my tekins. I can't swing a new tekin for several weeks and the repair/replacement price is the same as a used one from ebay. Does anyone have an opinion on a stock esc? I don't use current limiter or drag brake for blinky so I really only need a basic esc. I am looking for smooth throttle, ok brakes and affordable. Thanks for any info/ideas.

You want THIS ESC.

The reason being is at least when you get sick of running the battery and motor of the month class you can at least stick a mod motor in change the profile and it will NOT overheat. Awesome little speedo for the money. It's what I use to race mod buggy with.

Justock is a great speed control! Best price around and you can run a 10.5 with it. Also comes with a fan. That new stock spec v3 looks great also.
Check out Builtrc.com as well. Local NorCal store great guys and fast shipping.

Send the ESC back in to Tekin. My son did the same to one of mine last year and I sent it in for non-warranty service and got a very fair price on a replacement. It won't cost much more than a cheap ESC and you'll know the quality of product and service.

I checked the tekin service request form and the replacement price for a gen 1 is $97 + shipping. I sent in a rx8 earlier this season and they do have great service, but the price is a bit salty for a gen1.

My guess is if it needs to be replaced you wouldn't be getting a gen 1 back since they aren't making new ones anymore.

I run an xtreme stock on my TM2. works great in blinky and it's handy to have the option to add timing and boost should I need it or decide to put it in another car.

+1 on all the HW Just Stock Club Spec suggestions. I run this speedo in my SC10, B4.1 buggy and my touring car. I have no problems keeping up with people running $200 speedos.

You can send it in and use the "Credit" towards either a RS Gen2 or the new RS Spec.
