Default Batteries

Have a 22SCT that I'm just starting to race, I have some cheap lipos and I was thinking that these might be hindering the tekin 17.5 that I have in it... What are some good options for high quality lipos? I know SMC and Maxamps, just need some clarification on which is better and why. Thank you

I have some older Orion Platinum 4800mah 7.4V Kokam cell batteries, and they have been fantastic.

I have had them for over 5 years and I have never balanced them once and are still perfect to this day.

I've had a number of other cells over the last few years puff up just with maybe less than 15-20 charges on them.

I was wondering if there are any other companies making with Kokam cells, I am not sure if Orion is still using these cells. Can anyone confirm that for me or point me to where I can get some newer Kokam cells?

plugging in a battery backwards doesnt hurt the battery does it? I though it just burns up the ESC.
