Default Explaining Rotors?

Can someone please explain rotors? First, I am wondering what do the upgradable ones do? More speed? More punch? Specificaly for 17.5, looking for that extra "boost" What about these for 17.5:?

And do I have to have a Trinity or tekin motor to use their rotor or are they interchanable? Thanks for the help!

You need to use a rotor that is specifically made for you motor as far as I know, are you running in a spec class or just looking to make your 17.5 faster legal or not?

I'm pretty sure you can swap to a torque rotor and be legal as long as it is the "roar" spec (specific length) and made for that specific motor, you normally can NOT swap between brands. It should say if it is or is not. Rotors are basically magnets.. the strength width and length determine how they function in the motor. This does contribute to your motors Kv rating, the more/ the stronger the magnet in there, the more torque (punch/quickness) you can have, but it spins at a lower kv rating so top end maybe limited. You will find that you typically run cooler with the torque rotors but they will be a little slower and may need slightly different gearing to find a balance.

Roar rules limit the 17.5 class to a 12.5mm max rotor (technically 12.51mm), so the 13mm rotor is not legal. Also there are ID rules, the magnet ID must be 7.25mm, some modified 12.5mm rotors are also not allowed. Since you are posting in the offroad section I'd say the 12.5mm is the way to go, the 12.3mm high rpm generally only works in a light 1/12 scale as I understand it.

Of course it must fit the motor, can't help there.
