Had a race this weekend on a very large, bumpy, loose blown out track and was trying a few different things and one of the things i wanted to try was a longer wheelbase so i cut 3mm off the back of the arm and slid it back on the hingepin and put 3mm of spacers in front of it. It really locked the rear end in and gave me a slight push but was very stable.

I was running a 6.5 but traded for an 8.5. Much more control on our tight carpet track.
Running some boost on the 8.5 it has tons of rip. For outdoor big track I might go down to a 5.5/6.5 again, just cause I have no doubt the car will handle it.

Thanks, I was going to use associated plastic shims but they seem like they are just a touch to big on the shaft and can get angled on the shaft and bind.

ran the car over the weekend with the Exotek machined spur and mounting plate and this is by far the best update i have found for the car.
Fitment is perfect on the dif housing and the spur is completely round. I no longer have high and low spots to set the mesh.
On the stocker I had to set the mesh using the low spots which made it a bit tight on the high spots. My temps were in the low 170's on my 6.5.
Now they are mid 150's..the car is not as loud..and my packs last a bit longer
Best 20 bucks i have spent.

for the spur i had the high spot was really small and was too loose for my liking to set for the high.

Ran my car for the first time this past week and it's my first 4wd buggy ever and I was loving the power, control and overall feel of the car but for one thing....it jumps like a wet pig. I'm so use to my B5M and how it easily clears a triple using an 8.5. My D413 has a 6.5 and the thing is a rocket but I just can't clear this triple even with an all out run at it. Is this typical with 4 wheelers or is my car over dampened?
So, I run 7k, 100k, 5k in the diffs, stock springs, 37.5 front oil and 35 rear with associated 2 hole pistons @ 1.6 and 1.7. I'm assuming there's just not enough "spring" in this car? I don't want to hamper the overall handling just to clear a triple but I wonder if my piston/oil/spring combo is too restricting? I followed Tessmans shotgun shootout setup.

Shock setup looks too soft to me, FWIW. I'm running 2x1.6 HB front pistons, red HB springs, and 550cst PT oil, which is about 42.5 AE oil. Running 2x1.6 HB pistons in the rear also, with 375 PT oil, which is about AE 32.5 with HB gold springs. With 2x1.7 pistons, you're going to have to go even heavier oil, like 37.5 AE. I bet you're car is just bottoming out very hard into the jump face and scrubbing all your speed. Hitting at full throttle will make it worse.
