Is the Avid chassis geared towards high bite tracks only.

I thought about it, but even with my esc installed on the front, the car is still weight biased towards the rear. I didn't want to move even more weight back there.

I am interested to hear your thought on how it affects the handling.

your side to side is 50/50? Did you use weight to get that? What electronics are you running. Haha, 1727 weight. I will be over 1800 once I get my chassis protector on, lol. My track is pretty high bite and I expect it to get rutted for "States" this weekend. I am hoping that extra weight and stiffness helps.

Actually it's not 50/50 right to left. It's heavier on the battery side. The combination numbers shown on that scale are front right/left rear and front left/right rear cross weight. If you look at the individual corner weights it is heavier on the battery side.

yeah, I saw that, about 19g grams. I was referring to the PCT in the middle. Man, I kinda want those scales, just because I am geeky like that

With my 2wd cars, I could blip the brake and get the car to rotate. With this, it would just slow down, and could not get the car turned quickly. I added a gold front sway bar as per suggestion from another racer. Car felt a bit better in high speed corners, but the same on the low speed corners.

What should I try, sway bars, springs, diffs?

Like I said, I'm new to 4wd, so tuning with sway bars and diffs is new to me. Any help with those would be appreciated.
Talked to some locals about 4wd tires, and borrowed a set of HB fullslots for the front. This helped quite a bit. I am also going to try going 60K center diff instead of the 100K.

I believe the chassis is stiffer, so yes it will help on high bite. For my part, i hope the lower cg will make the car easier to drive. Maybe Wildcat1971 can tell us how much stiffer the chassis feels?

I think going to 60k in the middle will only lock the rear in more.

A lot, lol. I can twist the crap out of the cf chassis, the avid does not really twist at all. Front to back the CF didnt really flex at all with the chassis top plates, it is mostly side to side.

Mine was easier to drive for me and others that tried both.

Myself, along with a few locals ran this set up over the weekend at our indoor series race. 6 D413's made the A-main.

Did you find going to 60k in the middle gabe you more rear on power traction?

Has anyone tried the RCShox ackerman bar? I'm curious to get a report on it. Does it offer any driving improvement beyond the removal of slop?

I could be wrong, but reading the Hudy 1/10 off road setup book, they say a thinner center diff will increase off power steering. It's worth a shot.
