b5 caps and standoffs(plastic), run cap head screws on the 2 motor clamp screws instead of button and on the center top strap. Some run longer counter sunk scews on the cam to motor piece. Make sure you use threadlock to mount motor or you will prob strip a spur.

i broke a front hinge pin but i now believe that was a fluke. i also broke a rear rod end when a etruggy landed on me during practice laps but there are extra rod ends in the kit. Did not blame the car at all.

But in short. get the dang buggy. you will love it.

Why not use 2 thumb screws for the shorty battery strap? Looks like you would need a wrench near by for a battery swap

the strap has a slot cut out that allows you to slide the strap out. it is not countersunk on this end. so its actually better to use a nut on this end.

I apologize for the delay on your order. I held it up a week so I can get you the latest piston design. Unfortunately, the Red Silicone Valve we have been using has shown a weakness in the colder temps of 'winter' racing. And in the spirit of offering the highest quality part, I felt the need to correct the issue was important enough to hold orders for a short period.

I finalized the new design yesterday. The new Valve will be made out of a rubber material that is 20 times stronger than Silicone and equally as flexible. They are much more chemically resistant and will most likely last forever. We will factory assembled the piston as one piece. And the functionality of it will be exactly the same as before.

The shop worked over the weekend to get new pistons made so they can be sent out on Monday/Tuesday. Also, fyi: anyone who purchased the original red silicone valved pistons will automatically get a new set of V2 pistons in the mail. This technology works very well and I'm committed to making a great product and having the service to go with it.

True but do you not tighten that nut down? When I take off the thumb screw the flange nut is tight enough to not slide the carbon strap out

I use the 2 thumb screws with no issues. Most pictures i see have the nut on the back. Maybe it's just choice idk lol.

no i do not tighten it down. the flage nut i keep a little lower so when i crank down on the thumbe screw on the other end. the batt is not going anywhere.

think of it this way. if you were to use thumb screw on both ends. the taper edge of the nut will be in the slot where the flange nut will be a lot more contact area with the patch. But if you feel more secure with thumb screw on both ends. go for it.

I just flip the thumb screw so it is flat side down on the slotted end of the strap.

How critical is the C clip on the diff pinion? The rear diff couple bag did not have a snap ring in it and I don't have the proper size laying around. I doubt HPI will send out a replacement and the only way to get one is to buy the replacement gear set for $40
