I think he said per set, so 2x pistons I think. Although, "pair" should mean 2 and a "set" should be 4.
When you buy a set of tires for your real car, that is 4 tires and a pair is 2. Unless you say, I want a set of rear tires, then that is 2 because you ware only referring to the rear tires. Unless you have a dually, then it is 4 tires for the rear set.....

Well, you just confused me

if its for a full set of four thats not bad. is there any way you can get 2 1.6. 2 1.7 like are seen in most setups by TY and others?

I read through the first page going to pick up a D413 tomorrow night my LHS has a few in stock.
But my question is I have no batteries or anything yet so I can run shorty or saddle packs since im buying all new stuff and starting to race again (been about 10+ years for me) So the lipos are new to me as well.... Is there a large weight difference between the 2 setups ? I guess it depends somewhat on batteries as well. Just looking for suggestions ETC. I have always been a team orion fan so probably endup running all team orion electornics. Maybe Tekin but not 100 % sure so much has changed in the last 10 years !
I always use to make everything 100% perfect when I raced back in the day made sure shocks were 100% perfect and made sure everything moved perfect. Did you guys use any type of grease on the hingepins or any extra lubes or anything while building ?
Also I use to use Green Slime back in the day is there anything that beats that now days or still a good thing to use ?
And is there anything else I should buy that wont come with the kit ? I dont have any shock oils diff oils or anything starting out fresh !!

Unfortunately no, its impossible to keep up with and i end up with mismatched sets that i cannot sell and not everyone runs that setup. I run the same size front and rear. you can always buy the 1.6 set and drill out two of them. i offer both because some people just dont want to mess with drilling.

I just had a buddy of mine tell me that he uses serpent 2wd shock caps and hasn't had any issues. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not. Hope it helps..

So I ran my new D413 for the first time tonight and I need some advice on setup.
I bought the roller used here on RCtech with very little use, and since this is my first 4WD buggy I got the info from the seller and decided to run it with his suspension setup to at least get a baseline. I run on an outdoor clay track with medium grip, the track is very bumpy. I don't know how much of this is me being new to 4WD buggy, but I thought this thing was so uncontrollable and twitchy, it was all over the place and so hard to keep in a straight line. I had some other 4wd experienced guys drive it and they also had a hard time keeping it straight. It darts around like crazy.
I have read a lot on this thread, and it seem like most complain about the car being too soft. This setup felt very stiff to me, so when I got it home tonight I took the shocks apart to see what they had inside. The guy I bought it from said it had 40WT in the front and 35WT in the rear (diffs are 15k, 100k and 3k).
The front shocks have 4x1.2 hole pistons with 2 holes blocked off, and the rear has 4x1.4 hole piston with 2 holes plugged off. The two open holes on all the pistons are not modified so the sizes are accurate.
The springs are yellow, front and rear. I have gotten decent at suspension setup on my 2WD buggy and SCT but don't know if this car is a whole different animal. That just doesn't seem like enough oil flow and may be why the thing seems so rigid and bouncy.
What can I do to calm the steering down some? What is a good ride height for this car, it is set around 24mm which seems low to me as well...

Shock are waaaayyyyyyy too hard for a bumpy surface. Open up all the holes on the pistons and go from there. If that doesn't help, go down on oil as well. I'm not sure of the HB spring rates so can't comment on the springs but go back to kit. Heck ... just setup the car per stock setup and work from there as your baseline.

In terms of your piston setups, shock mounting, camber link locations, front kick up, sweep and rear antisquat, sweep and toe ... yes
Tune initially using ride height suitable for your track and then toe and camber as you like and then shock/camber mounting locations etc etc ...
