no issues with that, mine is done basically that way too.

I agree with Ebbtide on the motor wires and how they would hit the body if at all. Its an orientation I think they should have accounted for in how the body was designed personally as there are some nice motor fan options that I would have liked to hve used but the wires were in the way.

Thanks for the heads up. I am gonna shortin that servo wire. I have my motor at about 45 angle. Couple buds stopped by. They were digging on the buggy. 1 of um just bought a used d413off this site after scoping out mine. Rides cool. Kinda sleep deprived.cheers. Update. Receiver wires were to high and had to switch it around. Also Dremeled off part of the motor tab sticking up. It's a tight fit. But whatever.

looks good. a layout I was going to try was one with the ESC behind the motor. ran that with my DEX410V5 and liked it even on carpet.

I’ve got my ESC mounted behind the motor. Sensor cable should be around the motor wires, but hasn’t been a problem. Just “looks” off. Car feels very balanced this way, but in full disclosure, I’ve never ran any other configuration.

That's how I have it. Run on carpet I'll give the other one a try

The D413 managed to really lay down the laps at what appears to be the final race of the season at a larger outdoor track in our 13.5 class. Ended up adding in rear toe in and left everything else the same and the car was easy to drive. Planted with lots of steering. Enough so I was able to take first with the vehicle for the race.

Can the D413 run a low profile servo? If so, what's a good Savox?

It says servo on side. So regular or low profile is fine

Hey Everyone,

Another new face here at the RCTech Forum. Like several others, I recently picked up a D413 kit after a bunch of research. I've been out of the RC scene for...geesh, since the early 90s. Back when I was a teen, I was racing the Traxxas TRX-T, an RC12 and various RC10s. I always wanted to get my hands on a Yokomo YZ-10, but could never justify the cost

So, in comes the D413. Finished up the build last week, and what a dream. Loved the labeled bags. The diffs are pretty amazing to me. Super high quality all around (though, you all already know that!). I added a few Exotek pieces, as folks here recommended - the spur gear, the engine/diff mount, spring perches and the steering rack. Out of the box, I stuck with the stock config, and put in the 10/100/10 diff setup.

This car is insanely fast out of corners! It certainly has been a while since I've driven anything, but, wow...I'm so impressed.

I'm running:
- Tekin Gen3 8.5T
- Hobbywing XR8
- Hitec HS-7950
- Some trinity shorty pack that was on clearance on amain

Just bashing around my driveway and a local baseball diamond, this is such a blast to drive. I'm itching to get to a track though, and, there really don't seem to be any anywhere near me. Anyone from Central NJ here? Have any recommendations?

Thanks for all the help in this thread. Those of you posting over the years probably didn't realize it at the time, but there is a TON of helpful info in these 766 pages

I noticed there was some contact between the ball cup and camber link top plate. So I dremeled off some material? Then I hit it with black permanent marker. New rc club starting this weekend. Geeked to try the new rig. Is there an undertray available??? Thanks
