Please don't go crazy with the F1 inspired design elements, especially the "marital aid" noses we are seeing now.

OK, I'm a maniacal F1 fan for 30+ years now and I'm quite OCD when it comes to the technical aspects and know pretty much everything you'd expect someone to know and I don't see what you're talking about with the side pods in any of the pictures.

You can kind of see how the side angles in on this pic.

I think he is talking about F1 cars being undercut on the sides.....

Like tapering inward towards the bottom of the side pod right?

You can see it taper in a little better in this one.

exactly. that picture is the PL body which has a slight taper on the side pod, while the kit body has a more pronounced taper.

the car is full carbon right out of the box. the only carbon hop ups that Ty has are the suspension arm covers, which are not really a hop up but rather a tuning part used on high bite tracks.

No that's not it. I found it. He's referring the the rearmost section of the side pods. They have a channel built into them towards the rear. Pretty nice but I don't know how effective the effect is since there's no preceding sculpting feeding air to them and even if they did, there is no diffuser to feed the channeled air to.

But I sure admire the effort Torrence!!!

I've designed a body but am so out of practice with 3D modeling in general and so out of touch with Mastercam so I'm waiting for a buddy of mine to make the time so we can hash it out together. It uses several aero efficient principals that should benefit these small cars to a great degree. If we ever get it going I will be sure to produce it for a range of popular vehicles including the 413.

What Torrence is referring to can be better seen here. http://www.neobuggy.net/2013/08/10/h...ails-revealed/
Just look towards the rearmost section of the side pods.

FYI Torrence, there is a way to make this body from just 2 pieces. You just have to make a 3-piece mold.

i was referring to the undercut on the entire length of the sidepod which includes everything from the leading edge to the small details in the rear.

yes it could've been made in one piece by using a segmented 3-piece mold. tamiya makes scale sedan bodies like that all the time. problem is those molds cost way more to make and the resulting bodies are gonna cost well, like a tamiya body.
