Go with the traxxas orings, they don't leak and they're so smooth. Plus they are a lot cheaper then the kyosho x rings.

What does the set screw on the motor mount do? It doesn't appear to be needed.

Extra insurance to prevent the motor cam from rotating and stripping a spur gear.

It's a set screw for adjusting the pinion and spur gear gap. It makes it easier to set it and then you can tighten down the 2 main screws.

the avid chassis has less flex and a lower CG. The schelle is longer and will make the car more like a limo, but still a higher CG. Being longer, it may also have more flex.
