For me, the Associated rings leaked on the first build. After they swelled with oil, they were just fine.

I tried the Traxxas ones and they didn't leak from the beginning. But that was also first time I used green slime. I don't think that would prevent leaking but just for full disclosure.

I run aka evo rims and tires on the rear and PL 2.4 front rims and tires and haven't noticed any distortion in either. Runtime has been on a med to high bite indoor clay

I just got mine and ran it for a few practice days. Only thing I got was AE shock caps ( plastic ) and bushings. Thats it. Running the rest box stock. Its a beast. Thats why I got back into rc. Friend told me that I wouldn't need any extras for this car. My last car was a durango.. and well.. lets not talk about that.

Only thing I can think of to pickup would be a spare spur, its always a good idea to have an extra spur for any class.

I'm still running stock shock caps just fine, I have the B5s in a bag if I need them, but haven't seen a reason yet to use them.

and I still think its a very good idea to change the two screws that hold the motor cam clamp on from button head to socket cap head. would not be a bad idea to change the four on the center brace too.

makes it less likely to have have a spur issue.

hey guys, are you all drilling your own pistons for 2x1.6/1.7 or is there somewhere i can buy them? do any other brand pistons fit? i tried searching the thread but just found people drilling them.

Same here. I'm using the stock shock caps with no issues, and have the b5 caps just in case. Only other thing I did was traxxas xring shock shaft seals.

If you want standard (not 2 stage) pistons, RCShox is the only one that makes them specifically for this car. They are a little thicker than standard. I used them and they work fine. I recently tried the VRP valved pistons and I think I like them even better. They are more expensive but I like the quicker recovery. Anyway, both companies off the size you are looking for.

Personally, I have gone to 2 x 1.6 all around. I just didn't get enough pack with the 1.7s in the rear.
