I've got no experience with foam tires on a buggy at all. You don't need any tire sauce for Shuey tires, they are just great! Remember to get some inserts, firm closed cell types should work well.

Thanks for the heads up on the mini pins and foams. Got any idea what compound for carpet. I would think soft tires on carpet might wear really fast, thoughts?

What kind of carpet track are they running? On-road style? Small jumps / elevation changes euro style? You may want to check rules on tire choice. Spike tires are really hard on on-road style carpet (CRC/Ozite style) and most tracks won't let you run any spike tire on the on-road track in the off-road classes.

If you are going to run Schumacher, I would say yellow compound. Blue is really stiff, and only good for really tall astro or grass. On our track the Mini Pin offers the most traction, but is really edgy. Most of us have the outer 3-4 rows of pins ground off with a dremel. The Mini Spike makes for a easier drive and much less chance traction roll. I CA'ed the outside edge of my fronts to take away a little more sidebite. dBoots Nanobite's seem to be right in the middle, offering the traction of the Mini Pin, but the side bite of the Mini Spike at our track.

Schumacher mini pins in yellow compound all day and night. I would use nothing else on carpet.

I was told Euro style but I haven't see it yet. You know I think I'm going to wait until I see the carpet I don't need any more tires that might not work. My wife thinks I'm a tire junky, between my 1/8 and 1/10 rig I have close to a 100 sets of tires. LOL I like rc tires.

same here. It's difficult to hide all those tires from her. The look on my wife's face when she opened up a closet in the garage filled to the brim with tires was priceless. It's like she found the other woman hiding in the closet

My wife has known for a long time what kind of fool she's married too! Hehehehehe I don't know why, I opened up a package of new AKA tires for my sct410 today, it was a moment I can't explain but it made me very happy! LOL

Yellow, I got it thanks a bunch guys, can't wait to hit the track with this kit. I'm new to 1/10 sct and wheeler racing, been into 1/8 buggies and truggies until our local track closed. It's still good fun, just a little smaller.

No problem, be prepared to cut off the outer row of pins in the front if you have crazy over steer. ..

Top Gear, that's where I practice and race during the winter, great place and real nice people. I'll be getting a d413 soon, hope there's enough guys at TG to have a 4wd mod buggy class, not real popular right now.

The D413 together with the Xray and Yokomo buggies might change that, it is nice to be able to finish your heat.

+2 on yellow minipins (or for you stadium truck guys blue microspikes without insert with two to five rows cut on the inside and outside on the front tires).
I tried some PL wedgeČ/pinpoints on my 2WD, what a waste of time and money!
