@ Tekin--- Thanks for cookin' my new speed passions 8.5t. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Motor Temp 179
Battery temp 86
ESC ("auto fan") 97

No hot solder tabs... or wires anyplace~

(I don't think the motor is "Shot".... but it sure stinks~)

I got 5 packs in~ some tough tumbles, some good laps.

Only broke 1 thing. My motor!

72t spur, 28t pinion 8.5t SP v3 motor.

after pack 4 yesterday I hadn't made any changes to my initial build. (99% stock)
The only changes from box-stock were:
Middle line for droop both Fr/Rr.
I used 35wt Losi oil with Bladders.
20k/100k/7k for the diffs (Fr/C/Rr.)

After the first 5 minutes I checked the temps of EVERYTHING. each solder joint, my bullets, the motor end bells etc...

Here's mine. I did dremel the steering bushings probably half a millimeter. Other than that the build was very smooth. Just need to do a quickie paint job and i'm ready to go.

Thumbs up

I have nothing to add to this thread... other than enthusiasm! My first 4wd buggy, reporting from Toronto!

I was going to build for saddles (since I have 2 sets) but shorty seems so popular I picked up a cheap pack at the LHS when I got the car. I'm also going to recycle the rims from my old 22 as it sounds like they'll fit?

Ran mine today after waiting for shorty packs to arrive.
After initial run I added the silver front sway bar to calm down the steering a bit. Have to change the rear diff fluid to 2000wt. Initially running 10000 front/ 30000 center/ 5000 rear.
I basically used the same set up as Ty medium traction setup and went from there.
Amazing car. I am used to 1/8 buggies and this feels very similar.

Only problem I had was motor temp. Running a 6 turn reedy with 20 tooth pinion.
I am hoping soon that there will be larger spur gears available so I can fine tune to keep motor temp down. I can fit a 19 tooth pinion on the buggy, but that is it. 18 tooth is close but the gear mesh is too loose.

So if anyone knows if and when a larger spur gear is coming, let me know.
