For reference mine says:

(Invoice number) 17433661 23-Apr-2014 $.00 Invoiced, Awaiting Product From Manufacturer

If your invoice number is lower then mine your ahead of me, if yours is higher I'm in front, but I did my order yesterday as I stuffed up my first preorder by not completing it properly........
mine says the same

I called just now, they told me they have been pushed back to late May my order # is 17423018
I ordered on 4/16/16 and my money was taken out of my account 4/16/16 also

I have to say this is stupid. All this hype and dates keep getting pushed back. I could just imagine the parts support. They cant even get the kits shipped out.

If you click on back order status, that's where mine said "late May"...and I ordered in March. I canceled the order, I may or may not order elsewhere, I'm not sure. Though I am certain my money won't be going to Tower, I'd rather pay more some place else.

Tower said they planned on getting the kits "Late April", and it looks like they got them early and are already getting them shipped out. A lot of people ordered spares for the D413 that they have to find in other boxes that would have arrived at the same time as the kits. Not to mention other in stock and/or possibly backordered items that they have to pick for the order as well.

I think the fact that they have started getting them out before May is great.

According to his site he puts 6 small holes in the tire before he mounts them http://www.tytessman.com/racing/tips/glueing-tires.php

This is for 1/8 he punches holes in tires. Most all 1/10 rims come with holes in them, thus not needing holes in the tires.

I ask because there was a "hole" debate on B5 nation as to whether or not tires with closed cell foam needed holes in the tires in addition to the rim because the air flow is poor through closed cell. It definately doesn't look like there's any holes in the cactus classic pictures of his car, but it does look like he may have drilled extra, larger than normal, holes in the rims.

With Tower sending the lot allocation to all the other stores (aren't they the primary distributor in the US), I think they are taking those orders as priority. So if you don't get it from Tower in this first batch, I'm very sure other stores will have them shortly and you can get one from there. But I know many want to use the Tower coupons. Still, it is an option if you really want the car.

I actually ordered my kit with my local hobby shop. They just found out today they are not getting the kits until end of May. SMH

There was also Team Driver orders for the Kit that had to be filled from this initial shipment as well.
