good deal??

I am just getting into 1/8th scale racing, I used to race electrics WAY back when. I currently own a t-maxx and 4-tec both nitro.. and love them! I found this below:

So I need your opinion!!!

I have a chance to buy a
Onfa mbx r2
Installed is a hyper .21
Total of 9 tanks of gas has been ran through it.
Ofna Starter box 12v gel, and charger
MRC Super Brain 959 Charger
2-3 7.2volt batteries
Fail Safe
Servos

Also has a

Extra Back plate
Extra Head
Extra A arms
Force .21 engine with bearings, that needs sleeve, piston, crank

NO radio

all for a low price of $225.00

Good deal?

Anyone?

Nobody has a opion on this.. is it a good deal?

The R2 is the base model out of the whole Ofna buggy range right?

Do you plan to race?

Eventually, I will get back into it.

$225 for all of that is a good deal if you're just bashing.
If you want to race, save up and get a more serious buggy.
An Armani suit for $100 is a good deal, but only if it's the right size...

Team Duratrax 06-10-2005 07:39 AM

Yep that is a good deal if you wanted to bash but when you start to get serious invest in something better.

well I have been tossing this up and down, I figure for the price, for everything that it would be descent enough to get started into 1/8th scale racing, eventually I will buy a better car, and then I will have a good starter car for my daughter (6years old) and my wife.

But I just don't want to drop the cash on something that is a piece of junk.

or Maybe you can suggest a RTR setup for just a little more.. that would be race worthy..

I have been looking at:
Ofna 1/8 Ultra MBX Pro RTR
Towerhobbies:Special Stock#
LXAXV1

Maybe something else?

Nice looking buggy, dont really have the budget for that thou..
Looking more round $300-$350 Range.

Someone suggested to me the:
OFNA Ultra LX Competition

LH has it for $299 they said its a good starter, but would recommend a few upgrades, and eventually buying a whole new buggy.

Thai3g_Eclipse 06-12-2005 01:33 PM

There is also the RTR Inferno MP-7.5 for about $350, but the engine isn't very good though.

4rcphr33k 06-12-2005 04:18 PM

Hmm.. where?? cuz all the ones I am finding a round $400+
