MF2 brushless
alrite everyone, this is my first post and i run 2 t-maxxes (both are modified alot) and 2 brushless rc18t's. I am adding to my collection this summer with a MF2. i will be running a futaba servo and a novak xxl reveiver. i am still deciding on a brushless system that will be competitive at the local track. if you have any ideas that are not the hacker or the lehner (because they are too exotic and i here roumors of cogging with them). motors such as the upcomming reedy neo one with sphere esc. novak 5800 with ss and other stuff such as the two mentioned systems.
if there are any of u guys running a brushless MF2 or any other 2wd ofroad electric, a review on your motor and and esc how you think they compete with modified class would be great.

Well first off it depends wat ESC/motor combo you have to prevent cogging.
Sensorless brushless system are illegal at most racks.
The Reedy/LRP system looks promising but i think Novaks new GTB system is going to be the one.The SS5800 simply doesn't cut it anymore
The SS is about equivalent to a 13t-14t mod motor but i have heard they aren't much better then a 19t mod.
Go to www.teamnovak.com and have a look at the GTB system if you already haven't.

I've been running a 5800 in 2wd mod class since November and the system runs like a good 12t single- tons of low end torque. I think I'll get the new GTB speed control but I can't see using any more power unless a track that's twice as long opens up near by.

thankyou everyone, i will look into the novak GTB and possibly the reedy neo one and sphere, i was wondering if the GTB is just the speed contol... it sais the 6.5 velicity??? is that the regular 5800 brushless and the GtB it is talking about, and would this combination deliver enough torque to rum my mf2 that i am getting?
ps.. i do not know where to get the GTB (unless it dosent come out for a little while) unless i might be able to order it through novak can you tell me where to get one if i decide to run one and the price range?

as for the motor's, I haven't followed brushless stuff so I couldnt tel. you. But on Novak's site it says the expected release date of the GTB is mid July. I know I'll be waiting. I want a new speed controll anyway, why not have the option of either brushed or brushless.

The new GTB/Velocity system will be around $240 but if you ordered it off www.towerhobbies.com you could get a $25 saving for orders over $199.
The GTB esc has lower internal resistance then the GTX when using brushed motors, just thought i would let yas know.
Spitfire - Brushless motors have insane amounts of torque so you won't be disappointed.

If you was going brushless id go with the neo and sphere combo, but as it stands at this moment if you want to keep competitive stick with brushed and get a V2
