Remember that the bevel gears will push each other apart as they load up.

The diff itself feels good just the front and the rear have a little tightness but I'm just going to let the gears wear and mesh together and see what we have after a pack or two

Yes, I have destroyed two. Can't even get one run in on the car. The center diff quality is terrible

it tends to be in one spot on the spur, which would indicate a random moment of tight mesh/flex. not sure how its happening with the 'HD' chassis.

as pictured on the previous page, im now running a top deck. yet to test it though.

Weird I have a mod zx6 and a 13.5 zx6 and haven't had any issues with spurs. I do take my sweet time to get the mesh perfect though.

Never had an issue with my zx6, only now with the zx6.6. Different spur gear obviously

Put on a pinion one tooth bigger than you want. Push the mesh up firm and
tighten the mount screws. Loosen the setscrew on the pinion and slide it off
and then install the one tooth smaller. That's about as tight a mesh as you can
with 48p.

Do you have any vertical movement on the centre diff / slipper assembly when everything screwed up?

If so you can run a small grub screw down each hole in the top cap to JUST touch the bearing, that will stop that.

My ZX6 has a lot of running on it and is still perfect but my previous ZX5FS2sp needed the grub screws to prevent this movement.

I've put at least 50 packs through my centre diff and all teeth perfect.

I Am running 300k center diff fluid like tebos setup sheet calls for. Could that be part of it? Too much force on the spur gear to turn it over?

I might try 100k diff fluid

If you guys are running gear diffs and heavy center diff fluid you'll probably need to be careful about landing on power. If both the front and rear tires have great traction on landing a jump and you're on throttle that power has to go somewhere. When running a slipper you could withstand that easily but with a center diff you on have a few plastic teeth on the spur to absorb all that kinetic energy.

Should have been more clear they are both 6.6s running the CD with no spur issues but like I said I take my time on the mesh. It isn't as easy with the mount the way it is as it wants to move when tightening the top screw.

I've run up to 1.5mil CST on dry astro & carpet with no issue other than a slipepr definitely being faster.

300k-500k on wet astro.
