How much weight should be in the front vs the rear, I am running on a med-high grip indoor clay track, should it be close to 50/50 or 60/40 or 40/60?

So far after only getting one race day on the car it feels better than any of the other 4wd cars I've had. I was instantly confident with it and fast after a couple laps. only thing that bugged me was building it and honestly the plastics felt like they were of lesser quality than my rb6. And i know of a few other die hard Kyosho fans that felt the same way. Any body else feel like they used different plastics? Can't wait to get more time on the car.

I think the front plastics, the hubs/spindles feel a bit weak and flexy. But I did not break anything yet on my car been through some rough stuff.

The center bulkheads and the braces grip screws so hard I was gonna strip a hex (with the makita), but then I hand cranked it, so some left overs from the zx5 parts bin are weaker I suppose.

All 3 cars on my track are shorty (I run the skinny shorty the others the full 25mm height). Its easier to share setups I suppose . I am personally waiting for Cody Kings setup, I always find his nice to drive for my style.

The two other guys that normally race 4mod broke 8 arms between the 2 of them. I didn't break and I hit lots of pipes my first couple laps (from all the steering this thing has). now they are scared to run them which is a huge bummer. I have had a couple practice packs on a large outdoor track and let my Brother in Law who has never touched a hobby grade car do a couple laps and made it out just fine.

I think you may be onto something about the front end. looking at my car right now i can see and feel a difference in the plastics between the front end and the rear. strange

I was checking the steering throw with the car off and by mistake went overboard and the spindle flexed like crazy thought I had broken it off. Yeah, bummer they are scared to run it, car needs to inspire confidence to push . The front arms are also the rb5/zx5 series I think, rears I ran rb6 from day 1 which are stout.

Is anyone running the car in shorty configuration with motor foward and the servo in east, west configuration?? They don't show it that way in the book. Just wondering if it can be done??

If you mean servo on the same side as the battery, yes I switched my servo to that side.

I got some Gear Diffs in today. Has anyone tried them versus the Ball Diffs? Any thoughts would be appreciated...

I'm an 1/8 scale guy so I ran the ball diffs for a short time till the gear diffs came in. I started with 5 f and 3 r and that was way to thin for me. I increased the front to 5 then 8 and then 10K and settled on that. I went to 5 in the rear and then ran 10k. 10 and 10 feel good to me. I am going to go to 8 in the rear just to try it tonight.

Since I got the oils in the ball park, I like the gear diffs better. Like I said above, I'm 1/8 scale so I don't have a lot of experience with ball diffs. I'm also running on a medium/high bite rough track.

Does anybody know where a good place to get front arms for zx6 would be? Seems out of stock most places.

LA parts house. Part number LA272. They are the same arms from the ZX5. When you buy a set you get one front and one rear arm so get two sets to get two front arms.

In the gear diffs I started with 10k f 5k rear had too much pull so I tried 7k f 5k r and it had too much push so I blended 10k and 7k to make something inbetween for the front diff.. Now it feels good.

The arms on the zx5 were very fragile I was thinking that the ones on this buggy looked the same one of the reasons I didn't buy this buggy
