Default 2013 IFMAR 1/10 Offroad Worlds Chico, California

thought i would start a thread for all the people wanting to see what's going on with the warm ups and onto the race itself. post up images, stories, or what ever from your favorite team, drivers, esc, radio, batteries, tires...

IFMAR 2013 worlds stage one report. must read if you're attending or even racing:
http://www.ifmar.org/pdf/stage%20rep...1%20Report.pdf

the track. this track is huge. probably the biggest i've seen for a 1/10 event like the worlds. it sure is going to be an interesting race:

proline announced as the spec tire for the pre-worlds.

paul wynn and the jconcepts crew is on there way to the track. posted yesterday on his facebook...

quote:
"Once again JConcepts is off to another event in Chico, CA for the 2013 IFMAR Worlds Warm-up. I will be traveling solo for this one, but will be meeting up with the Team trackside Thursday morning. The team will consist of Ryan Maifield, Dustin Evans, Jörn Neumann, Eric Albano, Steven Hartson, Kody Numedahl, Brent Thielke, Aaron Biner, and a few others. This race will be a little different for us as it’s a handout tire race with the exception of 2wd fronts. So our main focus will be finding the right front tire for maximum performance and balance. We will also be working closely with drivers getting feedback for any possible future projects leading into the World Championships in September. I will do my best to keep up to date via FB with pictures and short vids.
See ya later raining FL!"

matsukura and team yokomo is headed over as well. pictured posted early morning yesterday on his facebook...

"I go the Chico! together Japan team!!! bye bye Japan~"

travis amezcua of team durango is headed up north from socal. picture posted yesterday on his facebook...

"Road trip up to chico for the worlds warm up."

Wow - watching the nitro and SC videos on the new surface, it did not really look like a Suburb kind if surface.

One of our locals, Aaron Alexander, made the trip there. He posted on FB that the surface is very hard pack and slick. Maybe they are assuming it will groove up and the bar style tires will perform well. Best of luck to AA, being a privateer racer it's very cool to see him qualify and make the trip for a Worlds race!

Track looks great! Is the track considered to be on the larger size for 1/10?

that's what i thought. it looks like it has different configurations. if not, that's a whole lot of track.

I believe that in Finland they reconfigured the flow of the track for 2wd and 4wd within the same event by moving around some pipes and curbs. So maybe slightly different layouts for the two classes here with many shared sections?
