Unfortunately with the costs/work involved in running an event now corporate tracks are likely to be the way things go. ... Now, how to book a trip 2 years away.... hmmmm.

Femca always chose/nominate Yatabe as the track of choice whenever its our turn for 1/10 off road. The last one that wasn't was in 1989 in Aussie but things have changed a lot since then. Nothing against Yatabe, it's an awesome place and Japan is one of the biggest RC markets but it would be nice to see it move to a different location sometime.

Let me expand and say corporate tracks, with good funding/support, in relatively easy to get to locations, and good internet (for good coverage).
Not that I see myself as ever making it to a Worlds (unless it comes to SoCal at some time), but Amain spending the $$$ to make a family day makes for good publicity and growth of the hobby. Same reason a good internet connection is needed. Lastly, it makes it easier for drivers, manufacturers, and everyone involved to get to the track.
Case in point was the last 1/8 fuel Worlds in Argentina. From what I've read, it was a fairly lackluster event with poor coverage since internet was almost nonexistent.
With the recent Worlds, even if you didn't follow live on LiveRC, you had virtually real time updates and videos (including the mains), all thanks to this thread, and other sites like neobuggy, petitrc, etc.

i agree SEF. and hopefully things get for the better. all the pictures, videos, and first hand accounts of this years worlds via facebook and other sites was mind boggling as it was happening. and in real time. that's how it should always be. lets hope that live rc figures out a way to advertise their sponsors so that everyone could watch the races uninterrupted. there's another site that does it successfully and they air their coverage for free. everyone should be enjoying this hobby, not paying through the nose for everything. including the sounds.
