Is their an alternative to "rc" tire glue..?

Will home depot super glue work and hold up?

Tire glue IS superglue, or more accurately CA. This question has been discussed many times, I can't find the thread though. How well any glue works depends a LOT on the method and skill of the user. The one good thing about the "checkout" glue is it's probably fresh which helps. Otherwise it's just glue.

Pretty much any "super" type glue that is a cyanoacrylate will work fine.

It works mostly ok. I like to use pure uncut CA glue from sweep. They add a gum like substance to make it not wick too easily (AKA and all). I like the pure version better. The home depot one will be like the aka glue.

Yes, any "super" type glue is a cyanoacrylate (or CA), and any CA is superglue.
Any "will" work, how well it works for our purposes is something all together different.

Admittedly being cheap, I long tried getting by using the retail store available/cheap CA, instead of spending a dollar or two more for the RC hobby specific brands, I thought having tires come loose regularly and having to waste glue re-gluing was normal.
It wasn't, and come to find out there's a reason these tire companies are marketing their own rc-specific CA. It's because it works better than ordinary CA.

I have a friend that swears by gorilla glue brand CA, which you can get at Walmart or home depot. But it's better than ordinary CA as well.

(any advice about prep being the key is total BS, they're the ones regluing tires trackside)

I use ZAP Slo-ZAP thick slow cure when I first glue up tires.

I use Gorilla Glue for maintenance at the track. It really does work well!

Pretty much any super glue will work. The key is in the prep work of cleaning the rims and tires before you try to glue them.

All i know is i refuse to pay $9 or more for just CA Glue thats labeled Tire glue which is just CA glue (Super Glue) . Just rediclus .

The Great Planes Meduim glue works pretty good but the nozzle likes to leak . I just found a small bottle of Duratrax Meduim glue and i like it and its only $3 !

Never tried Home Depot super glue but ive tried the Locktite black bottle CA glue that is like a Gel i dint like it though first run they came unglued and i preped the tires also before i used it .

You'll notice each brand has slightly different viscosity and curing times, Sweep is very watery and will get all over your fingers if you're not careful, AKA has medium curing time which allows you to make final adjustments. Prep tire and rims, and IMHO wear disposable gloves!

I mean yea each Glue has diffrent times of the time it drys and the thickest of them but its still just CA glue (Super Glue) . Sure some of them even the Medium glue comes out kind of fast and some are more thinner than others.

I have the Great Planes Meduim glue and the bottle likes to leak like a mother lol but not bad glue at all though. Just a annoyance if anything.

But its not worth $9 or more dollars just because it has Tire Glue sticker on the bottle when every CA glue that says it works on rubber will work.

Oh if i was better at Tire glueing i would get thinner kind. I dont like the nozzle tops they use on the Great Planes glue though they like to leak even with them tight.

But yea its much cheaper than the other race brand Glue there Glue is not bad like i said ive used the Meduim Velosity.

X that about 100 times
Depending on the tire and the fit I'll use thin to medium, cheapo or tire glue.
Technique plays a huge role in how well it works.
There is a thread discussing this, where the heck is that ?
