Default Team Durango DEX410 V2 Loud Slipper gear assembly

i have a DEX410 that i bought from a friend. for a while its been working great without any problems. lately it has had a very loud gear noise. i disconnected the center slipper gear assembly, and rolled it around. no more noise. so i have narrowed it down to the center slipper assembly. anyone have to ever replace theirs? do these go bad over time? i am almost certain it is original to the car, and i think the car is 2 or 3 years old.

any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks for the help!

Loud gear noise can be caused by a few things, loose/tight gear mesh or worn spur gear are the common cause. This thread http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...gy-thread.html is a better place to ask questions related to the DEX410.
