Arrow viper vs tekin?!?!?! 1/8 mugen build

hi there guys.
nice forum here and lots of info.
i am buying a mbx6e mugen buggy with some nice badlands yep yep lol.
i live on the beach and will be running it 9/10 times on sand,
as of so far taken lots of info in and this is as far as i got.
will be a mbx6e eco with 4s 5000mah 40c setup, badland tires, futaba tx/rx, as for servo? well any ideas?, and as a newbie and ex E heli pilot i KNOW cheap is not the way to go, i want some nice power and top speed so was thinking of the 2050kv t8 tekin, as for the esc?!?! well here starts the thread and rant about pro,s and con,s, the tekin rx8 seems the one to get for sure, butttt then i saw the viper esc 1/8, but also sooooo much info against tekin and vice verse to viper, as for money well don,t give a rats a** i want some performance and no bad things happening, i have allways used kontronik esc,s on my helis as to the amazing performance, very expensive but worth it give or take 50bucks, and on top of the two, viper and tekin rx8 where do i order a tekin rx8???? i live in holland the netherlands, yes yes there lol, i would buy one but want the latest version. so guys where can i order the esc and maybe as combo with the 2050kv t8. anyhelp would be reallllly sweet.
kind regards from a newbie, hahaha how that sounds coming from a ex pilot that could do hurricanes, funnels, tic tocs 5cm off the ground and auto landing inverted, but living at the beach the heli,s don,t like sand and take to much of my time.
any hows guys any help of info would be nice.

You can't really go wrong with the Tekin setup. RX8 with the 2050kv is what I run in my Mugen ECO. I also like the AE 1015 servo for steering. AMain Hobbies should have everything you need. On the other hand... Both Viper and Tekin have great customer service. One pro for the Viper is that it may be waterproof which can't hurt for running at the beach.

Running in the sand is going to tax the system, any system.

40c may not be enough depending on how deep the sand is,etc.

The 2050 is a good choice on 4s and with a 14T you're looking at around 35-38mph.

as for the sand its fairly hard packed sand, not dusty dusty sand,
can i drop to a 13pinion or is that under gearing the system to much?
i would like to be able to drop a tooth with not to many problems,
but as so the 2050kv seems the right guy for the job then?

Either system is going to work well for you. We both have qualities of our designs we focus with.

Like I mentioned in the other message you posted, be careful with running on the beach, its a rough environment with r/c -- I've done it, its fun!!! But it can be rough on all equipment.

Good Luck, have fun.......

You shouldn't have to under gear it too much. If you go too far its' just as bad as over gearing.

Just monitor motor temps and keep an eye on your batteries.

went for a walk in the dunes today, bloody perfect for a buggy there, really lots of grass hills and jumps and drops and hard packed sand to, sweeeeeet.
with the 2050kv is it ok to drop to a 13tooth or bump up to a 15tooth?
will this under/over gear it to much?,
made a decision to get the 1/8 viper esc because of the water here and because i cant find any rx8,s in stock,
so viper u win.

Like Randy said, keep an eye on the temps and you should be able to find the sweet spot in that 13-15 tooth gear range. Bashing on the beach sounds fun! Have you thought about a truggy at all?

Mmmh a conversion kit for the nitro truggy,, mmmh so gonna cost me at least 100bucks more and the nitro truggy is already not that cheap, think i will stick with the apple hihi,, the mbx6e eco will work great in the grassy dunes behind the beach i found yesterday,, even my girl was all like nice for your buggy no? I was like hell yeah baby,, and as for wheels are the badlands the best for offroad? Grass, sand, sometimes road, ?

Thumbs up GOOD JOB GUYS

just wanted to say i like to see the tekin and viper being polite to each other in a thread. VERY nice to see, read too many other threads where people could not act that way. and i own both and agree either one is a good choice.
