I prefer 5/5/3 myself. The 7 in the middle will give a more direct feel.

My track is med to low bite. I run 5-7-3 and I think that is the best setup.

5-7-5 works best for me, like said before, it depends of your driving style.

Thanks guys. Ya I drive smooth and like to roll the corner. But when I get back on it I want it to steer where I point it not push. So 7 should work the best I'm thinking.

I'm running a sensored 2200kv Hobbywing Xerun kit on 4s.
2200kv is a bit of overkill, BUT...... It fly's....
I've programmed back the throttle and it's still a rocket.
Beauty of the Hobbywing kit is that you get the program card included, and it's sensored.
(Power wise it craps on my HPI Trophy Flux Truggy.)

I was running warm also but I use a lot of brake and pump the brake on the radio like an anti lock brake. I removed the radio box and used the servo mount like the scte 2.0 . The receiver and transponder mount to the side and that will give you room to mount a fan. It fits between the front diff upright and mudguard, just need a little shoe glue. Also trim the back of the body to let more air flow thru. The fan blows air under, down the side and across the top.

And I run no timing 35 current with a 16 pinion but adjust the EPA to 95 most of the time

Thanks for the advice. Tekin recommended going up a few teeth on the pinion because of my track conditions. My body is cut out already. If going up on the pinion doesn't work, I'll try your suggestion. Thanks again for the advice.

Would going up in pinion size make the motor run cooler, or hotter?

Typically hotter. However, because my track is very loose, I'm getting too much wheel spin. This is why my motor temps are too hot. By going up on the pinion gear under these conditions I'm hoping to lessen the wheel spin and therefore bring the temps down.

Kind of a newbie but I think if you go for a bigger pinion you will actually have more wheel spin.

I am looking for a combo for my 8ight-e. Anybody tried the tenshock x802v2 2100kv ?

smaller pinion = more torque = more wheel spin
bigger pinion = less torque = less wheel spin
