Default Finished First Build

Just finished my first RC Kit and wanted to share it. It was super fun and am looking forward to my next.

Looks great. I am thinking I will go all white on mine. Maybe some silver highlights.

On step 1 (steering link assembly) and 2 (servo saver assembly) and have a couple questions already:

1. my protek ptk-130t servo came with an aluminum servo horn with 2 holes that can connect to the linkage. However neither is at the same length as the plastic horn included in the kit. The split the difference - the kit horn hole is right in the middle of the holes in the aluminum horn. Does this matter? can I just use either of the holes on the aluminum unit? Perhaps a bigger issue is the kit screw that connect the horn to the linkage is too big for the aluminum horn.

At this point just thinking I should get a direct replacement aluminum horn - assuming such a beast exists? Any recommendations?

2. On servo saver step it talks about using engine spray to clean the threads on the aluminum shaft. I assume I could use carb cleaner or brake cleaner to the same effect?

3. Can anyone recommend a pinion gear for general bashing and a bit of outdoor track use? I have the smc 1900kv sensored motor and smc 4s 5200mah packs.

4. Is the included 5000w (I think that is what it is) okay for all the diffs - again, for mainly bashing.

5. Do you think the included 35 and 37.5 weight oil will suffice? I've read it is not as good as the stuff you can by after the fact.

Thanks a lot! Looking forward to learning as I build.
3. 15/45 is a good place to start.
4. 5/5/5 is a good place to start as well.
5. I read that as well but still used it as a place to start. The posts that were saying that were pretty old so I'm hoping they corrected it.

Did yours come with an H bag with replacement/upgrade parts? I got extra sway bars, etc, and it scared me that I missed an entire set of steps!

15/45 is the place to be. im running 16/45 on a fairly loose track and I hit the temp alarm on my mt4 (set at 175) once or twice when charging real hard against the nitro guys. I ordered a 15t today.

I am barely into my build, but yes I do have an H bag and it does look like extra parts. Hard to say for sure though since I haven't gone through all the other bags yet.

I ordered the losi 45t spur and 15t pinion earlier today.

I bought the mt4 as well, still have to crack it open and read through the manual. I assume you just attach the temp probe anywhere on the motor?

So I guess this is the battery do buy.

It says preorder, so I assume it's not available.

Is this any good?

Next suggestion is expensive! Trinity Revtech 6950mah 4S, this is currently what I run, but will get a couple SMC batteries to have during the summer.

Ah. They must be out of stock. I just got five of them in two weeks ago. I know for a fact that 6500 turnigy packs do NOT fit.

I will suggest the Reedy 5200mAh 55C battery. You get what you pay for. Great batteries! 20min on a rx8/1900kV T8 combo.
