Are there any other setups from team drivers not on the TLR site? I would like to see some low traction setups.

I am really considering picking up the new 3.0E. Can you guys let me know what the weak links are in the kit that you have seen or experienced? Also any spares that you would deem worth while adding to the pit box.

Thanks in advance.

Default ESC and Motor combo for beginner

I am very new to the racing world of rc buggys. I would like to know what esc and motor combo would be a good one to start out with. I have a 1/8 scale losi 8ight 3.0 buggy. Also what servo would go great with that combo also. Thanks for the help.

Umm. I keep running into the back of Tecknos and Associateds as I lap them :-)

Seriously, I had a lot of problems with the suspension being too tight. I basically replaced everything and reamed everything. My wing snapped pretty quickly, and have gone through a few shock shafts and front bumpers. Other than that, not very many problems. The suspension almost made me hang a FOR SALE sign on it.

Tekin Gen 2 T8 1900 KV and Gen 2 RX8. Hitec 7955 was built proof last 4 years for me.

When you run full wick down the straightaway on a practice night and a 7 year old is driving in circles with his 2wd Slash 3/4 of the way down the straightaway.......

Just chipped it though and bent a shock shaft

I would just get the usual ..... a-arms, maybe a wing, shock shafts. I haven't broken any arms, but you never know. Oh yes, metal servo horn. I really haven't hurt too much, even with a 13 ft high jump and a wall ride on our track. If you want to see some of it go to RC Gears 2015 utube stuff

There is only one truggy race for now on it, but you get the idea of the track.......Big Air

Reamers for the hinge pins, squeeze the living crap out of the turnbuckles so they loosen up. I tried this squeeze thing dozens of times and they just returned. I tried heating them, same thing. Finally, short of hanging a for sale sign and buying a Teckno I just basically replaced almost the whole suspension, stretched the springs about 1/2 inch and it finally worked. Stretching the springs was a hail mary.

What shock oil do you have?

The squeeze thing works eventually. I had to squeeze mine before each race day for a couple of weeks, then every so often. Now, about a year of racing later, the rod ends are not binding but fit so perfectly my year old 3.0 has less slop than any brand new 2.0 I've seen.

Well I run 40 frt and 30 rr. Maybe your springs are worn out. Best bet (didn't work for me) is take needle nose plyers and squeeze the turnbuckles really hard in a few places on the same turnbuckle until they move easily. I did this many times and they just froze up again on me.

Next try, the shocks have to be set right. I wasn't doing this right. Go on utube and check the proper way to do this. Finally I just stretched the springs a half inch.

Does this kit come with any tuning options like extra pistons or sway bars?

Also I just picked up a roller, and it has the nitro rear shock tower on it. The original owner claims this was an early kit, and that is the tower it originally shipped with. Is this correct?

I looked on A-main and can't seem to fing the rear shock tower for the E with the additional camber link locations. Can it be pirchased seperately?

Thanks.

That is the rear tower. It comes with sway bars and optional short ackerman. Newer kits come with the x-ring orings for the shocks as well.

Not sure if the earlier kits came with the nitro rear tower, my guess would be no. The pistons the stock kit comes with are the 5 hole pistons.
