The best batteries I have used would have to be Reedy, Hobby People, and Orion. I have had a Thunder Power it is a great battery, but they do not last nearly as long as the three I mentioned. Due to them not lasting more than 2 seasons I would rather get a venom battery over a Thunder Power. The only problem with Venom is only there red 2s are good. That is why I will not recommend them. The Gens Ace batteries also are great, but after a season they produce less and less power ever time you use them. Not 100% sure about other brand. Therefore, I will not mention them.

My favorites have been IP/PromatchRacing and Thunder Power. My oldest IP is over two years old now and still going strong. Pro-Tek seems to have a good name. SMC is making a comeback and drivers are raving about them these days.

The worst batteries I have used, for 8th scale, are Orion and Gens Ace. The Orion lasted 7 months. For $150, that is total garbage. Might have just been a fluke, but I'm not risking that again, since they have NO warranty at all. Gens Ace are puff machines and they just don't last. I'll never buy another 4S from them.

I have been using the trinity titanium 90c packs. Stormer has em for 99 now. Used to be 130. A bunch of us use em. No issues yet!!!

I have a question. I run the good old Turnigy 5000 mah 30C 4S batteries, and I still have my throttle end point at 80%. Wouldn't a battery with a whole bunch more c rating be a waste if I'm not even running them at 100%. Please discuss, maybe I'm right out to lunch.

The higher C will give you a little more on the top, but you will notice a huge difference in acceleration. So yes, it would probably hurt you if your fine with your old packs turned down that much.

Congrats J! You loving your buggy still? I know i sure am loving mine. I emailed Drake to ask why running the optional rear axle dogbone set has any advantage, hopefully he answers me..

Also, i have done some digging and i still have a question about bodies.

#1 The Proline 2012 BullDog im not to happy with, it's very durable ect. ect. but the clearance sucks. The highest tab on my Tekin 1900 hits the corner of the body, it's just to tight of a fit for me.

What bodies are you guys using? I was looking at the JC Illuzion Hi Flow, or FTW Exabyte?

Also, is there anyway to move the rear mount up? I know you can shim the front mount up but?

Have you tried rolling the motor so the tabs are sideways? I have an old proline slipstream body that looks great, but they discontinued it. You really do not have many options.

I haven't tried the universals, but read they smooth out the bumps but give up a lot of forward bite. You definitely don't want them if your running indoors at the Factory. There really aren't any super bumpy tracks around your area to justify trying them either. Let us know if you do though!

I was running soft aka impacts with the red soft foam in the video. 80% tread left. 5-7-3 diffs, 32f 30r shock oil. Body I'm using is the FTWrc exabyte 2.0 body. Has plenty of room if your having clearance issues. I hated the bulldog body lol. I love the buggy so far and I'll love it even more when its dialed to my drive style lol.
I attached a closer view of my buggy also

Motor is angled..

Hmm, the Rear Dogbones aren't universals though, they are dogbones..

Is that what they are for though? Bumpy tracks? If so, you are correct, most of the tracks i run on are taken care of and smooth for the most part.. I run at CCRC, The Factory and Batavia right now, i can't stop racing at Batavia for some reason, it's the closest track to me plus i like the atmosphere, high bite track and track layout.. I really want to get back up to Matts since he changed it..
