What is the smallest pinion I can use with the stock 43 tooth spur gear and still mesh up properly? What if I used the optional 45 tooth?

It will be on a Castle 1515 2200kv motor if that makes a difference.

Also, how is the ESC actually attached to the chassis on the new 8IGHT-E 3.0?

Just out of curiosity, why "the smallest pinion" available. Guess you will be seriously under geared with that motor before you even reach the "physical" limit.

The ESC is mounted with adhesive tape directly on the chassis plate for low CG. Some are concerned with the lack of cushioning, but some attach the ESC with very thick tape etc. The issue have been asked before and some solutions have been given. Search for "esc", "shock", "chassis" etc. and you will find it.

I have copied the setup that Dakotah Phend posted in post #1439, which fits me good for the type of tracks I run on.

The sheet have no tickmark in the "Wickerbill" option section.

Do you guys think he ran with no wickerbill?

Does any of you run without the wickerbill? If so, in which conditions?

Run a 14T with the 43t thats the smallest you can run.

Missed that. I run the .350 wicker bill.

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that the reason I was asking about the SMALLEST pinion was because I may run 6S at times because I already have eight 3S batteries. They are all matching pairs for my E-Revo that I bash around from time to time. I can always turn it down a little bit on my radio. I know I won't want or need full 6S power on the 8IGHT-E.

I asked about the ESC mounting because I will be using a MM2/2200 combo and was going to use the traxxas hold down for the ESC. It's actually a nice little mount, but there won't be any way to mount it unless I drill and countersink a couple holes in the chassis.

Does anyone have experience just running a buggy on 3S? That would certainly cut down on battery weight in my current situation! Cut it by half!

On 3s you will need a really high C rated battery or you will puff it. Not really enough voltage to push a 2200.

My 3S batteries are 60C constant 120C burst.

I broke down and ordered a couple 4S batteries with my 8IGHT-E 3.0 kit just a few minutes ago. They will get me by for now.

Could anyone recommend a servo that is good to use for racing? Coming from 1/10 2wd buggy so this is all new. How much torque and speed should I look for?

With a some new ESC's allowing HV BEV (like the teking RX8 Gen 2) we like the S6090 for steering.
I would look for under .1sec and something in the 200in-oz range at a minimum.

I use the Kyosho Zeal Vibration Absorption Gyro/Receiver Mounting Gel (KYOZ8006) for mounting my ESC. It is about 3-4 mm thick and sticky as heck. I ran it in my SCTE directly mounted to a King Headz without issue for 2 seasons now.

6S 2200kV is a terrible track setup, you'll have to turn it down a ton. You need a motor in the 1700-2000kV range.
