Default Fantom Batteries

So i have 2 fantom batteries and i love the performance out of them, i just recently bought another fantom that is a 6500mAh and 60c-120c burst.
i have been charging the pack at 6500mAh and 5A.
I ran this pack through my SCTE probally 5 times and i noticed yesterday after i took the pack out of my truck it was puffed a little bit? I dont think it should be puffing at all. Im using it to power a Rx8 and 4600 pro4 motor.

after about 10 min the pack went back to normall for the most part and was pretty warm after i pulled it out.

$120 battery should not already be puffing.. any help?

Mostly every battery gets warm and expands when you put a heavy load on the battery

I ran 3 different fantom/revtech orange case packs than they all puffed within 20cycles one dropped a cell within 10 cycles . I will never use a orange pack again .
Orange packs r only good (for me) on July forth . charge it , shoot it , watch the pretty lights ... Most expensive light/smoke show of the day..

How low did you run it to, what is your Low Voltage Cutoff setting? A heavy load and running the lipo down too low is very hard on it. Much better to stop slightly earlier.

i agree, i have one of the black packs and they work great! the orange pack is what i have that is swelling. its the stupidest thing i have ever seen in RC. why make a pack that is so costly and a piece of junk at the same time!

That's not the battery's fault you stretched the runtime well beyond what you should have, or needed to have, stopped running it. Sounds like you did it to yourself.

I run 2 of the 2s 6500 orange packs in my eBuggy. The batteries were bought last year and have been run down to the LVC many times. They haven't swelled at all. Did you follow the instructions that came with the batteries and put a soft cycle or two through them before heavy use? Mine always get two full charge and a 20amp discharge cycles before I run them.

It would be nice if people would first contact the manufacturer about problems with a product. Threads like this can effect a businesses sales and I like fantom. Personally I would've dealt with the company, not a forum.

How do you store your packs when you are not racing?
