Check your diff. I had the same problem. Slipper was almost tightened all the way and even changed the motor. It turned out I fried my ball bearing diff.

Unhappy setup question

I have an SC10.2 SC truck and I'm running stock 13.5 blinky class on a kinda small, tight indoor clay track. I have no idea what gearing I need to run. I burned up two motors last night and I'm on my last one. Please somebody give me an idea where I need to start on my gearing to keep this from happening again.

Thanks,
Cameron

You are running an 8th scale truck with a low power 10th scale motor. Why is your track suggesting this? Whatever gearing you are using it is to tall. Reduce the pinion significantly if you can. Not sure if there is a gearing option that can survive the SC8.2. Are you really running a SC10.2? If so the manual states that a 13.5 should run 24/78 for blinky mode.

Why would you gear up if you are getting too hot? Are you getting a lot of wheel spin??

Cam come to the track with Ev and James Thursday and we'll figure it out. I need to do the same thing because I always have run my 13.5 boosted. This week though go through your truck and check for any binding. Just pull the pinion and spin it to make sure its smooth.
If you can't make it Thursday I will have it figured out and can help you Friday.

Sc10.2 is what he meant BTW everyone. 13.5 blinky gearing.

Drop the pinion one or two teeth, remember 1 pinion tooth is about 3teeth on the spur

+1 You should be able to make all adjustments(slipper&diff) form the same side, the right(passenger) side.

Motodemon8, you want to get the wheel spin under control too. Wheel spin generally leads to higher motor temps. On a loose track you might need to turn the punch down (control current, etc).
