I own two truggies, both with RX8 Tekins, one is a 2000 and one is a 2250, neither get hot, last 10min main we ran where the ambient temp was over 80 degrees, the motor only got to 154, it's all about gearing to the track..

Love my Tekins!!! Also running a Castle MM2 and 2200KV in my buggy, working like a damn champ!

I just wish I had seen this thread before ordering my HW combo...could have saved a couple bucks and gotten a different (better?) motor. Oh well...it's only money.
