"Ideal" depends on the track and your preference. I run around 70 most of the time.

The most i usualy run is 50 with my pro4hd on indoor wet clay. Still seems to be more than enough.

Alright so I'm picking up a new HD to run in my trophy truck (rwd). It's about 10 lbs all loaded up. I use a SC411 4600kv and a rx8 in it right now. (geared 40/12, run on 2s) Speed is great and temps aren't bad, but it has a bad cogging/shuttering issue at like 1/4 throttle. (tried many sensor plugs, and it has a glitch buster)
Really weird, I just need a pro4 HD...

So my question is, 3500 or 4300..?

Had a 4300 in my Tekno 4x4 a while ago and loved it, but like I said the tt is a RWD setup. Looking for efficiency mostly. I know both those kv's would be beast. Just looking for some opinions.

On 2s the 4300HD will be a better choice. What platform is this 10lb trophy truck on?

Hmm ok, I was only considering the 3500 for lower temps. I would of just geared up a bit if I had to. In terms of efficiency, would you say they're similar running on 2s?

But the TT is custom, full cage and everything. It uses parts from a bunch of different trucks. Here's my thread for it: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-s...ml#post5040212

If you're goal is efficiency you'll get away from the 2s stuff.

Go 4s and 1850 Pro4HD with this pack: Protek

Can't do 4s, it can only fit a 2s sized pack. I have all 2s packs now, but I may also consider the 3000kv on 3s..

That 4s packed I linked you to IS the same size as a 2s pack

For a 10lb rig..I'd strongly suggest it if you're serious.

Can anyone tell me how much it would cost to send in my Pro4 4600kv motor for replacement? Took it to the track a few nights ago for practice and made it about halfway around the track and it locked up. Pulled it apart and the rotor is in pieces.

Thanks.

Pull it apart, clean it out, inspect for stack damage. If all it needs is a rotor, it's 5 minutes and around $40 depending on where you buy the part. No need to send it to us.

Definitely needs more than the rotor. Looks like the stator and sensor board are both damaged to some extent.

My rx8 data log is showing me reving to 60000rpm when im wide open down the back stright is that right. A 4300 should be closer to like the 35000rpm on 2s i thought is somthing wrong? Is this normal?

Default Tekin Pro4hd 4300 Kv and Castle MMP esc lcok up

Ok guys I just bought a Tekin Pro4hd 4300 Kv motor and a Castle Mamba Max pro This weekend for my Losi Scte. I'm having problems with the power cutting off if I accel hard . If I accel slow seems like I have no issues, however when accel from dead stop it jerks bad and if in a turn wheels will go straight as if I've lost all power. I'm using a Hitec HS-7955TG Digital HT Titanium Gear Coreless Servo. Battery is a SMC 6500 with a 70c and 140c burst. Receiver is a sr300 and radio is a spectrum Dx3r. I've tried Different batteries different servo, I have solder the motor direct to the ESC elimitain the bullet plugs and I have soldered the bullet plugs to power so that esc plugs directly into battery without the need to deans or traxxas connector. Im stumped at this point. Castle sasy motor is to much for the esc however Tekin says it is not. I know others run this set up. any help would be nice

Just doing a little follow-up. Ended up going with the 3500 on 2s, so happy I did. It's a monster. Handles the truck so well and it stays nice and cool. Couldn't be happier.
