Serpent Cobra E-buggy 2.0 or Tekno EB48
#16
Get the Tekno. Costs less, is a more conventional design that uses less expensive batteries and by most accounts runs better. Austin Blair TQ'd the Dirt Nitro Challenge E-buggy class, another one (Chris Door) made the A-main too. I usually don't put much weight behind race results but this was a world class field.

As stated above the Serpent IS built like a tank.
I have a ton of spare parts lying in the box but have only replaced a broken wing and a camber link screw due to not having it thread locked.
We're in the same situation trying to decide on what to run in the 1/8 class this season. We have 2 x SCT410's at the moment which we are very pleased with and I also have the 811Be that I raced last year......hmmmm
The Serpent does look good though

me personally I don't put a ton of value into a win at a big event. I look at it more that the car has the chops to run with the best.
I put value in what common drivers are experiencing with the vehicle and how there laptimes and overall experience improved by going with the new platform.
In your case, since you own a tekno SCT410, The handling characterstics would be similar.
what would be really interesting to me personally would be to see what serpent comes up with if they did SCT 4x4.

It's true what they say about Serpent, once you're bitten, you won't be buying any parts...
been racing over a year and half now, on same track as Austin Blair, a really hard packed dirt track that is brutal on tire wear and tuffer on cars. After cartwheelin enuff times to win Olympic Gold, I have only replaced a single plastic bushing in the front suspension pin.
Austin would own everyone at our track with "any" car. There are other really good drivers at that track too and when I let them drive my car, they say my Serpent is "dialed" and have very good runs.
I think either buggy would do well performance or parts wise etc... however, the Serpent is hands down the sexiest thing since the Spermint Rhino!! but then look at the designer Billy Easton... the "hawtest" driver in RC land IMHO!
I also like having something different than all the teckNooo's .. but those guys have helped me tune my car.
