Hitec Servos
What servo would be better for a Team Losi Xxx Bk1, if I'm only racing with my friends or running it around my yard, Hitec high speed HS-525MG or Hitec ball bearing HS-615MG metal gear?
|
If you're meaning the HS-625MG rather than the HS-615MG then go with the 625. It has 94 oz. of torque and .15s for speed which is perfect for the little 1/10 buggies.
|
Yeah I think its a 615.... hard to tell though the label thing is kinda destroyed. And is the 525 good for a 1/10 buggy at all? if not I'm gonna sell it cause I got it in a package deal with 2 other servos.
|
Get the 625
|
What about the 645? Will it work as good?
|
The 645 is to slow for a 1/10th buggy, the transit time is .20sec, very slow.
|
The 645 has high torque which you really don't need for a buggy and is slow.
I liked the 605BB when I ran one in my B3. I now run the 925MG, super fast. |
Would running a stadium truck be any different? (like a rc10t4)
I have been debating whether to get the 625 or the 645, but didn't know which would be better for the truck, high speed, or high torque... |
i would get about a 90 ft pounds of torque with .15 or better transit, but ive been through 7 hitecs, 4 jrs, and bit the bullet and got some airtronics 94357,s and havent looked back since. bottom line is hitecs are mediocer servos. at best......
|
A 625 would be a great servo for your application.
There's nothing wrong with the Hi-Tec servo's at all. They are a great servo. I use pretty much nothing but. I have some that are over 4 years old with the same gears in them. You just have to set your EPA correctly. |
im stating what has happened to ME with sub-par servo's. my end points were set, i only race, no bashing,no water. these servos that ive mentioned were a big let down to me, each to there own, glad u have such good luck with them, but myself and most people that race competatively would agree they are "lesser" servos. now i will take back the knock i made on jr servos, only there high end servos though, are produced in conjunction with KO.
|
The 94357's look like a sweet servo, but they are too much money for me. I don't race, at least as of yet, and just need something to bash with.
If I decide to race, or if I start seeing the hitech's die on me, I'll definitely consider the 94357, as it would be cheaper in the long run... |

I currently own 8, and have used Hi Tec for the past 6 years with not 1 failure. I also own KO and out of the 3 I have owned in the past 6 years 1 has failed Irrepairably. Just my opinion and experience though. |
I have a hitec in my B4. Tried them in my gassers and they didnt' do it for me so went with the airtronics and a futaba digi. They are expensive, but you can find them in forums if you look enough for good prices. Just have to jump on em as soon as you see them.
