Got to try the Sidewinder SCT system out last night so far everything is okay did have to go from a 14 to a 12 pinion to get the punch I was wanting temps were 100 dg or lower on motor with no fan speed control 85 dg range gonna add a little more timing it is just on the 10dg setting right now but actually back to driving something that I had fun with.

Running one of these suckers helps keep things cool as much as a fan does unless under direct sunlight on a hot day. But they really should be on all 2S powered SCT's in my opinion.

What are you guys using for shock seals when replacing them?....standard box x-seals or do the 22 x-seals fit?

Cheers Aaron

If you are running the SCTE shocks you should use stock o-rings. The X-rings require a different spacing and don't fit well in shock. If you are using 22 shock conversion then use the 22 xrings.

My kit came with x-rings in it, it is one of the last kits off the line because it has all TiNi Carbon black coating on all the shafts, pivot pins, ect as apposed to the gold like on the earlier batches, and my shocks have x-rings that are a clear silicone not black like the 22.
Should i track down an o-ring instead you think?

Cheers Aaron

Sorry your right the SCTE always came with x-rings but they are not the same as the 22 version.

I used the 22 xrings on the 2.0 shocks with extra spacers. It worked ok for a while, but the seals didn't seem to be the way to. They required lot of effort to find sweet spot where they didn't leak or bind up. Really best to just buy the 2.0 seals or move on to the 22 style shocks.

If you keep boots on the 2.0 in good repair the seals can last over a year.

Cheap party balloons work as good and cost less. I always used the factory boots until a year ago. Tested balloons after E-buggy guy said they were holding up. They last twice as long as 2.0 boots. Also like the colors available to have something different.

Default Ten scte for b ashing?

Hi Guys,

I would like to buy a sct for all around purposes. I wont hit the race track for now only driving on loose dirt jumps and pavement. Is the sct good for that? Is'n it an overkill? Is it customisable as a Slash i mean is it possible to transform it to a monster truck(is) rig?

Thanks for your input.

If you are not going to track the truck then get the RTR version. Truck is very durable and there are a lot of options for it out there since the platform has been around a while.

For the Monster Truck question Losi sells a version of this car with larger tires.

Losi has a buggy version of it as well all based off the SCTE platform. Check them out. I think you would really enjoy this truck.

I have just ordered the new HW Exerun XR8 SCT 1/8 esc for my 2.0 and will match it to the new HW 4300kv 550 motor, people I have talked to rekon this combo is a great combo for most sct's especially the losi!
I am currently borrowing a mates Teken setup at the mo(RX8, pro 4 4300kv) and running a 15t pinion on a mid to open track med grip, would this gearing still suit the HW?

Aaron

Thank you Casper for the quick response.
I am asking the MT conversion because I like SCTs but the option that you can easily turn for example a Slash into a Monster Slash is tempting. If I can do the same with the SCTE platform no further question.....I wish I could sell the idea to my wife...
