Don't try to reinvent the wheel. The 4.5t is a proven combo that my guys have had a great deal of success with. We run a 12 pinion on small tracks and a 13 on large tracks. Proper ESC settings (boost, timing, etc.) are critical with a 2-pole. We can help you out with Orion or Tekin settings as we have run both.

Oh gotta it, thought perhaps you were coming from a 1.0 to the 2.0 as the gold shafts are coated as well.

I've been running my 4pole orion vst2 540 4600kv on my rango SC since the indoor season. Had tried a 5.5t 550 vst2 on my (medium) outside track and it was enough with a little bit of boost.

Now with the SCTE 2.0 I think I will go with the TP 4,5turn 550, guess it'll be easier to get it dialed.

Btw. I had been running the 15tooth pinion with the 5.5turn, is it really 2teeth less with the 4.5turn TP? (change from 15/41MIP - 10.63 to 13/41 - 12.27)

Will race my TLR for the first time this weekend

I have used "Savox SB-2270SG "Monster Torque" Brushless Servo" @7.4v and the "Savox SC-1256TG Standard Digital "High Torque" Titanium Gear Servo" @ 6v. Both worked flawlessly. No issues at all. Some like faster servos, but we prefer .12 to .15 on the trucks. I run much faster servos on my 1/10 buggies.

Please keep in mind that the SCTE is light, compared to some other trucks. We have had great success with the 4.5t 2-pole, but proper ESC settings are CRITICAL to wake it up. If you run 4-pole type settings without timing (among others), it WILL be a turd! My guys dominate with 2-poles.

12? Lol

I ran a 18 tooth last week for practice. Its all in your finger.

I may knock it down a tooth or two but I like being able to blip over a jump.

A question for Casper or Hacker,
If I order the bottom caps set LOSB2904 from amain or so in the US, then I should get the updated ones?
(I was "lucky" to get 2 SCTE 2.0 kits with the shrunk bottom caps)

Ok, my former truck was lighter... But I guess not half as durable
I did not mean to run it without adjusting the ESC to the track checking motor temps etc. I was just thinking about the gearing, where for example in buggy mod classes people tend to use the gearing more than boost or specially turbo, since its more linear... This does not seem to be like that in 4wd SC?

I am sure there is some old stock out there still. the best bet would have been to contact Horizon Customer Service and they would have sent you out new bottom caps. Again not sure what the status is of A-mains stock on these parts? Ryan my know better.

4.5T straight up is good. You can boost it though and get some more out of it. Everyone seems to be looking for max power for these trucks! They handle pretty darn good so guys keep wanting to go faster!

Thanks a lot!

I had raised a request online with Horizon a week ago, but not heard of them yet... Will call them on Monday if I don't hear from them...
